At Energy Personal Training you feel as if you are part of the team and that they are specifically there for you.  The highly accredited trainers are well balanced in training styles and specialize in customizing to your specific needs and challenges.  They have strong knowledge of the physical body and nutrition to successfully lead you through the maze of obstacles to the path of well being.   They understand that a healthy lifestyle is not about following weight loss trends, it's about developing healthy habits, listening and helping you to form a new perspective on each day.

As many have, I have tried all sorts of programs and diet plans – nothing has worked long term. With Energy Personal Training, I have never worked out so hard yet so efficiently in my life.  And even though the workouts are challenging, I feel energetic and incredibly inspired. They really love what they do and it shows. I highly recommend E.P.T. to anyone who is serious about fitness, their health and getting into shape. And if you’re just deciding to make health and fitness a priority this is the place because they really care about your progress and will motivate you especially when working out is the last thing you want to do. (Never happens)

Working with Carissa has been everything thing I hoped for, and more.  Despite being a lifelong athlete, I’d ‘let myself go’ to the point of concern given a family history of diabetes and heart problems. My initial goal was to loose weight for those health reasons. Not only have I lost 35 pounds, 10% body fat and 16 total inches, but with her training and guidance I’ve built muscle and endurance that improve my recreational sporting, I’ve modified my diet and eating habits in healthy ways I can maintain, and most importantly I’ve learned how to keep myself healthy with the training habits she’s taught me! I look forward to each session with Carissa at EPT because I know she will always push me harder than I would push myself.

What’s the first thing you notice when you walk in the door?  A beautiful training studio and a friendly smile.  The staff is extremely knowledgeable and you feel comfortable knowing the trainers are 100% certified.  Julie is my trainer and she has helped me believe in myself...and I could not be happier with the results.

Since February, I have lost 74 pounds and 43.75” overall.  I’ve lowered my body fat percentage and BMI to healthier levels.

I have a ways to go to reach my goals, but I know that with the personal attention I receive at Energy, I CAN do it!

Since I’ve been training twice a week with Julie, (about 50 sessions)  I’ve lost a total of 12.5” overall and 16 pounds. As part of my program she encouraged me to increase my cardio training. This has not only helped me lose weight but also increased my level of fitness so much that I ran in the Run of The Mill 5K with Team Energy.  Next year I plan on joining Team Energy in the Courage Classic, a three-day road biking event.  My training has also helped me improve my balance and strength and Julie has also helped me learn how to eat healthier and maintain my new healthy lifestyle.

The greatest improvements that are difficult to measure is the improvement in my quality of life.  I’m 63 years old and feel better, have more energy, confidence and take great satisfaction in achieving the challenges of an advanced training program and how that has led me to try new things in my life.

Energy Personal Training has been the best health decision I have made. Not only did I tone up the trouble spots that were bothering me, but I have a friend in my trainer. Farley, actually CARES about how my workout week has been.

From the very beginning, she was able to design a workout routine that not only challenged me physically, but mentally as well. My previous workout experience was the same every time, from the cardio machine to working out the same one muscle group . Although I was maintaining, I was not gaining any additional muscle or strength.  She consistently changes the routine- I don’t think I have ever done the same workout twice!  In my busy lifestyle, exercise was the first thing that got cut. Farley showed me how important it is to focus on fitness every day, in what I ate, did and thought about. Not only did meeting with her twice a week “shape up” my physical body, but it allowed me to realize the other parts of my life where I could make changes.  My time at Energy Personal Training is the only time I am able to leave my Blackberry in the car, and I really look forward to shutting off the outside world and focusing on my own personal fitness.

I have been working out with Julie at Energy Personal Training for approximately 7 months and it is the best thing I have ever done for myself.

I have exercised off and on over the years, but never very effectively. It was always a necessary evil that I dreaded and was never able to maintain. But Julie has taught me how to workout efficiently so that I am getting the most out of my efforts. She has pushed me to  achieve fitness levels I did not know I was capable of achieving, without ever putting me at risk for an injury. She is very skilled at knowing what my body is capable of doing and she works every possible muscle group.......muscles that I didn't even know I had!

Her knowledge of health, fitness and nutrition far exceeds the knowledge that most trainers have. I NEVER thought I would see the day that I would look forward to exercising. But now, I look forward to working out, both during my training sessions with Julie and during my cardio workouts on my own. I have LOST weight, inches and body fat but the best thing about my experience with Julie and Energy Personal Training is what I have GAINED. I have  a new (and lasting) enthusiasm for exercising, the fitness and nutrition tools I need for living a healthy lifestyle, and a mental strength that makes me believe I can do anything that I put my mind to. I have a new-found appreciation for what my middle-aged body CAN do, rather than a focus on what it cannot do. You cannot put a price tag on that!

Three years ago I made the decision to join a fitness center and start working on getting in shape.  My doctor had been preaching good health to me for many years and at the age of 57 my weight had ballooned to 258 pounds and I was feeling very sluggish.  When I began going to the fitness center I started on the treadmill after seeing limited results decided to work with a personal trainer.  On October 2, 2007 I became a student under Julie’s watchful eyes.  At that moment my life changed forever.

When I started working out with Julie I noticed an instant positive change not only in the physical side of training but also in my very poor eating habits.  Training at the studio is much different than the fitness center I started at.  At Energy Personal Training there is a family atmosphere and the work is hard and fun.  Training is serious business and all the trainers work hard to get their clients into shape.  I have made many friendships with other clients that will last a lifetime.  

Getting into better shape kept me from becoming gravely injured when I fell onto a hard surface from the height of about 15 feet.  I only broke my right ankle and needed surgery to repair my right shoulder.    In about 7 weeks I was back training and Julie worked with me through my recovery and shortly was back to my fitness level prior to injury.  We continued working hard until another surgery setback put me on the back burner once again, but after about 4 weeks we were back to training hard and it just gets better.

Since beginning my training with Julie, I have lost 10% body fat; lost 28pounds of fat, added 13 pounds of lean muscle and lost 15 total pounds.  I sleep much better, I eat relatively healthy, my attitude and awareness of my health have improved and all around life is fantastic.

Is working out hard? You bet.  Is working out a commitment?  You bet.  Is working out fun? You bet.  Is working out worth the time?  You bet, it will change your life.

For years I put off getting healthy, figuring I always had more time.  After experiencing a heart attack at the age of 48, I realized I couldn’t pretend I was fit any longer.  I met with Bud and his interest and encouragement led me to schedule my first training session with him.  Since then, he has gently encouraged me to do push myself a little more during each session and set goals that were just outside of my comfort level. 

In the short time we’ve been working together, I’ve noticed big changes. The biggest change is the complete loss of fear.  I used to worry when we would try something new and would tell myself it was going to be hard.  Now, I know it’s going to be hard, but I’m strong and can accomplish anything. I’ve learned much more about what I’m capable of and am doing things I never dreamed of.  I’ve seen huge changes in my physical appearance, like seeing bones and muscle where I used to see fat. I’m more flexible and not only have I achieved a whole new level of fitness, but Bud has helped my improve my performance on the tennis court by including sports specific exercises in my training programs.

Best of all, Bud is genuinely concerned about me and my progress.  It feels good to know it’s not just me on this journey.  I look forward to training and I can’t imagine my life without this.  I want everyone to experience this too.

I first met Julie last June at a boot camp she was instructing.  At the time I was working with a great trainer at my gym and wasn’t looking for a new one.  During a conversation I learned that she was training a group of bike riders for the Courage Classic and since I wanted to get into road biking invited me to join them. 

After getting to know her and talking with her about her Studio, training philosophy and my fitness goals, I decided to go in for an assessment and workout.  I was already fit and was looking for a challenge, someone to push me harder than I push myself and she certainly fit the bill.

Due to the equipment at Energy and the exercises included in my program I have noticed a big change in my core. I especially love the TRX Suspension System that challenges you by producing movement while supporting your own body weight. 

Julie puts a lot of time into planning my training program and expects you to put as much into your workouts as she does.  I would certainly recommend her to anyone, especially someone who is looking to be pushed to achieve a new level of fitness.

I walked into Energy Personal Training approximately 9 weeks ago. On that fateful day, I met James (Bud) Barrett and my life has changed tremendously. With his support, and a determination to change my life for the better, I have lost 51 pounds. I understand this is just the beginning of a journey that will bring me closer to living a full and active life with my wife and daughter, but the Energy staff, and Bud in particular, have helped me get off to a successful start.

Energy is not a place where you will find the typical gym atmosphere. Instead, it is a place where you will find caring and motivating trainers. Energy is a place where you can find success.
